Better mental health in 12 weeks

Meru Health combines virtual therapy with daily exercises
When it comes to better mental health, real change happens in the time between sessions with your therapist. That’s the idea behind Meru Health, a 12-week program that runs entirely on a mobile app. Meru Health combines video therapy with daily activities and lessons, so you’re never on your own between sessions.
Moda Health members can now use Meru Health at no extra cost. It’s an easy way to get help with anxiety, stress or depression. You don’t have to search for a provider or commit to weekly sessions with no end date. You still get personalized help and a real therapist to talk to. All you need is your phone.
Meru Health teams up with researchers at Stanford and Harvard to make sure their program works. After 12 weeks, 94% of users say they feel better.*
The program starts with a health questionnaire that explores what kind of challenges you’re facing and what you want to work on. Then, you’ll be matched with a licensed therapist.
During your first 30-45-minute video call, you and your therapist will create a personalized program. After that, you can message your therapist through the in-app chat as often as you need. This gives you a chance to ask for advice and work through challenges as they come up. You can also schedule video sessions with your therapist for live, one-on-one conversations.
To keep up the good work between sessions, Meru Health gives you daily practices for activities like breathing and mindfulness. These usually take about 15 minutes. The app can send you reminders for these exercises, making it easier to improve your mental health a little bit every day.
Meru Health’s program also includes a free heart rate monitor. By wearing the monitor during healthy breathing exercises, you can see how your body responds and relaxes. This is called biofeedback, and it can help you become more aware of how you manage stress.
Life can get busy, and finding the time to see a therapist can be tricky. Meru Health was designed to make mental health services convenient and easy to access.
You can spend as much or as little time as you want using the app, although for the best results, try to practice your exercises every day.
After the 12 weeks are over, you will no longer be able to chat or meet with your therapist, but you will have unlimited access to your practices. This way, you can keep up with your healthy exercises. You can also keep your heart rate monitor and continue to access the biofeedback training.
Meru Health’s platform is HIPAA-compliant, so your personal information is always protected.

Did you know that every person, at every age, should see their primary care provider at least once a year? Some call it an annual physical. Others call it a preventive care visit. Still others call them wellness visits. So, what’s the difference?
When you see in-network providers, you’re getting the best benefit through your plan. That means the lowest co-pay, deductibles, and out-of-pocket cost.
