Get more out of your insurance and more out of life

One thing is certain: The more you do for your health today, the more you can enjoy the things you love — today and in the future. That’s why Moda Health offers in-network preventive care under the Affordable Care Act at no additional cost to you.

Why preventive care matters

Preventive screenings, exams and checkups are the foundation of improved health. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 100,000 lives are saved each year due to preventive care.1 Not only that, one study showed that life expectancy increased significantly after screenings and primary care consultations.2 That means more time to do more of the things you love.

Step 1: Choose a primary care group

We always recommend that you first establish a relationship with a primary care group. Your primary care group works closely with other providers and specialists to help you stay healthy.

They’ll be able to help you identify which preventive care is right for you in each phase of your life. If you don’t already have a primary care group, log in to your Member Dashboard and select one today. You can start the conversation with them and get scheduled for your no-cost preventive services that promote your long-term health and wellness.

Note: For specialized screenings, like a colonoscopy, Moda Health doesn’t require that you get a referral, but the specialist provider might require a referral, and your primary care group can help you with that.

Step 2: Schedule preventive care

The preventive services offered in your health plan cover all ages and everything from bones to blood, promoting your long-term health and wellness. Some examples include:

  • Flu shots
  • Routine physical exams
  • Diabetes screenings
  • Colorectal screenings
  • Mammograms

Some preventive care, like flu shots, can be easy to get at walk-in clinics or pharmacies. For other services, we recommend you schedule appointments now so you can rest easy knowing you’ve got your preventive plan set for the year. Call your primary care provider (PCP) today to schedule your no-cost preventive care!

What does "no cost" mean?

In-network preventive care services under the Affordable Care Act are covered 100% for members. You should not have to pay for these tests and services. There may be a situation where a preventive care appointment turns into health treatment. It will depend on how your doctor categorizes the care they’ve provided. We know that healthcare and health insurance can be confusing, and we’re here to help. Call the Moda Health Customer Services team if you have questions about what is covered, your explanation of benefits, or your bill.
