Pre-existing conditions

Short term medical plans do NOT cover pre-existing conditions. These are defined as an illness or injury for which you or a family member received any medical diagnosis, advice, treatment, service, supply or drug prescription within the last 5 years. A condition can also be considered pre-existing if the symptoms were severe enough that a prudent person would seek diagnosis, advice, care, or treatment (even if you didn't).
